A SharePoint web part that helps maintain a staff directory.
The Staff Directory Web Part helps create a staff directory of your organization. This is a useful tool for the SharePoint environment. SharePoint user profile store is used by this application to create the directory. The directory makes it easy to search and find people, offices, departments, locations, skills or job titles. Complete contact details of individuals are available in the directory so that these can be found very quickly. User profiles get instantaneously loaded, there I no need to wait. They are able to find details immediately. The data could be displayed in one of two available modes. One is a simple but intuitive profile card display mode. The other alternative is to use the common column based display of the data. Configuring columns, sorting by column, field formatting and image preview are features available.
This tool makes it possible to browse through data available on offices, departments, locations, skills and job titles. The details will be pulled from a data repository to display the latest details about a person. Fields used in the profile displays are configurable. More than 60 fields are available to let you configure the profile display. Custom field could be used. It is possible to find people by office or department by simply clicking on the office or department in the sidebar. Alphabetic index, highlighted partial matches are available. Offices, departments, locations, skills and job titles are also searchable. This is a good tool.
